Our mission is to nurture and strengthen children, youth, adults, families and communities through education, support services and collaborative partnerships to help people improve their lives and achieve self-sufficiency.
While some of the staff were busy at the Back to School Celebration at Bayside, our team member Shakita was at the Clearwater School Bash ensuring children in Clearwater also are ready for this next school year. Mattie Williams is one of the community partners that participates in this amazing event every year. Our Back-to-School Celebration was about so much more than handing out backpacks—it was about welcoming families, connecting them with valuable community resources, and giving children an exciting start to the new school year.
A heartfelt thank you to our amazing Mattie Williams team, who greeted every family with kindness, helped children find their new backpacks, and worked tirelessly to ensure the day ran smoothly.

It truly takes a community to ensure local children start the school year ready to learn, and we couldn't have done Mattie's Back to School without our incredible partners at Bayside Church, Safety Harbor. A special shout out to Jeannie and Megan for helping us every step of the way.
From opening your doors for our backpack stuffing event, to hosting our Back-to-School celebration, providing a delicious meal for families and volunteers, and supplying countless volunteers who worked tirelessly with smiles on their faces—you were there every step of the way.
Your generosity, hospitality, and servant hearts helped make this year's Back-to-School program a tremendous success for hundreds of local children and their families.
Together, we're doing more than providing school supplies—we're giving children the confidence to walk into their classrooms prepared, encouraged, and ready to succeed.

This weekend wrapped up our Back-to-School supply drive with Beer for Backpacks at Crooked Thumb Brewery, which helped us reach 100% of our school supplies goal!
A big shout-out to Safety Harbor residents and friends of Mattie Williams for supporting local children by donating hundreds of school supplies over the past few months. Thank you to the Juvenile Welfare Board of Pinellas County for providing much-needed pencil pouches filled with the tools students need.
Plus, this program would not happen without the support of community partners that hosted drives and collected supplies on our behalf:

One Last Chance to Help Local Students Start School Strong!
Our Back-to-School School Supply Drive is coming to a close, and we'd love to celebrate with you this Saturday at Beer for Backpacks at Crooked Thumb Brewery.
Every school supply donated, every raffle ticket purchased, every meal enjoyed, and every beer sold helps provide local children with the school supplies they need to begin the school year prepared and confident.
Join your friends and neighbors for an evening of great music, great food, and a great cause.

Live Music – The Crackerbilly Band (7–10 PM)
Enjoy an upbeat mix of folk, Americana, country, and bluegrass.
Jersey Kabobs Food Truck (5–10 PM)
Chicken and steak kabobs, sandwiches, and more.
Alessi Sweets Cookie Booth (6:30–9 PM)
Raffle (5–7 PM)
Bid on fantastic items and help fill backpacks for local students.
Bring School Supplies (5–7 PM)
Our greatest needs are colored pencils, crayons, and markers.
Every donation helps complete a child's backpack.
A special thank you to Crooked Thumb Brewery for once again opening its doors and giving back to our community. Their generosity means $1 from every beer sold will be donated to the Mattie Williams Back-to-School Program.
Whether you stop by for one drink, dinner with friends, or to drop off school supplies, you'll be helping local children start the school year with confidence.
