Bright Ideas Youth Development
The Bright Ideas Youth Development Program promotes school readiness and success through structured activities that improve the academic skills of children and youth.
Bright Ideas After School features homework assistance, tutoring, technology classes and fun activities to improve reading, math, and science skills. It also addresses social development needs through problem solving and team building. The program operates at the Mattie Williams Neighborhood Family Center and Oldsmar Elementary School.
Bright Ideas Summer Camps focus on eliminating learning loss by involving participants in fun math, reading and science projects. The camp includes outdoor play, water fun, arts and crafts and at least one field trip. The summer camps have locations in Safety Harbor and Oldsmar. We especially want to thank Pinellas Community Foundation for its support through operating grants for this program.

Back to School Backpacks
Prior to the start of the school year, the Center provides backpacks loaded with school supplies to more than 500 local students. When registering for this “Back to School” event, participants must supply a photo ID; proof of residency, e.g., utility bill; a Social Security card or birth certificate for each child in the family.
Adopt a Child/Family (Holiday Giving)
Adopt a Child/Family matches families with individual or group sponsors to provide Christmas gifts to children. These families would face a grim holiday without this program.
It is available for residents in the following ZIP codes: 34695, 34677, 34759, and 33761. Participants must bring a photo ID; proof of residency, e.g., utility bill; and a Social Security card or birth certificate for each child in the family to register.
Weekend Food For Kids
The Center provides weekend food packs with ready-to-eat items for children. We are thankful to partner with The Kind Mouse to distribute food to our local kids.
